Inspiration
“It is finished” is an invitation to rest. What Jesus completed at the Cross is ours to receive.

32 Moving From the Cross
Inspiration
The Cross is off-center, but it is also a beginning. From it, Christ’s love moves outward—reaching into the confusion, beauty, and movement of everyday life. The flowing lines suggest that what Jesus accomplished is not confined to one moment in history; His love continues to reach, restore, and draw people toward new life.
Artist’s perspective
I see the Cross at the heart of this movement. The lines seem to flow from it in every direction, as though love cannot be contained. The layered background colors and intersecting forms remind me that life can feel complicated, yet the Cross remains our center. From there, we are invited to carry what we have received into the world around us.
33 Celebrate!
Inspiration
The Cross is not only a reminder of suffering; it is a reason to celebrate. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, hope rises, grace is offered, and new life begins. The copper form stands out against the weathered background like a witness that love has overcome—and that the finished work of the Cross can still bring joy today.
Artist’s perspective
I wanted this piece to hold both the weight of the Cross and the hope that shines through it. The bold metallic against the worn, earthy surface reminds me that God’s love meets us in the middle of real life.
